The night started with thin, scattered cirrus clouds distributed all over the
sky. This was of little consequence for the spectropolarimetry. On the other
hand, several major clearings between cirrus cloud formations had to utilized to obtain reliable
photometry. The seeing started out at about 1.5 arcsec, but degraded to
around 3 arcsec as the night wore on. The humidity rose steadily and finally
reached a point were operations had to be halted about two hours before
the end of the night. The sky during these final two hours was generally
overcast.
