The IR satellite image below shows how hopeless it can become trying
to observe at this time of year in Arizona. Tremendous storms hit
much of southern AZ, including Kitt Peak, just before sunset and lasted past 2200 local time.
As of 0100, there was still some light rain at the observatory. The forecast
calls for more of the same from now until several days past the end
of the observing campaign.
