Campaign 58 starts off on Kitt Peak at the Bok Telescope with thick cirrus. It was not worth opening the
dome until the very last hour of the night. In the brief amount of time available, the telescope pointing could be found from the unknown
offset left from the previously mounted instrument and
the re-installation of the f/9 secondary mirror. The guider was set up and a rough focus determined. After that, there was only enough time to do a few
bright blazars through light-to-moderate cirrus.
