Spring officially began tonight, which also marked the start of campaign number 37
of the Fermi/Steward Observatory monitoring project.
Unfortunately, Kitt Peak is still in the grips of winter as a major
late-season storm dumped a half a foot of snow on the observatory during the
past 24 hours. Almost all of the action was over before sunset, but the humidity stayed well above 90% all night and prevented any consideration of opening the dome.
SPOL was bolted onto the Bok Telescope and checked out. The forecast calls for good weather over the next several days.
