Another fine, photometric June night on Mt. Bigelow. Tonight had the added bonus of better seeing (1.0-1.5 arcsec) than during the previous nights of this campaign.
Moisture from New Mexico that can be seen in satellite image
is forecast to spill into southeastern Arizona tomorrow,
and thunderstorms may fire up in the afternoon. So the nearly ideal
observing conditions may
deteriorate because of a brief taste of the coming monsoon. The forecast
has dry conditions returning by Sunday morning.
The long-term danger here is for lightning to touch off fires, so we'll
hope that any storms that develop will produce plenty of rain.
