A clear night except for some isolated, small clouds that rapidly formed during the last hour of the night. These made little impact on the observing. The seeing was fairly poor during the first couple of hours of the night (2-2.5 arcsec), then improved to just worse than 1 arcsec a little after midnight. The seeing was variable between 1.3 and 2 arcsec during the last couple of hours before morning twilight. Another productive night is now in the books.
The fire spotted last night in the mountains along the northern horizon grew in size and has propagated an impressive distance to the east. Dry thunderstorms are forecast starting Wednesday afternoon for southern Arizona and I'm sitting in the middle of a very dry forest. Hope for the best.
