Dear Observers, The preliminary February-July 2024 (2024A) schedules for the MMT, 90-inch, and 61-inch telescopes are now posted at: http://james.as.arizona.edu/~psmith/schedules/schedules.html Please contact me (at pssmith@arizona.edu) by NOON on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 if you have questions about the schedule. Please keep in mind that the MMT is almost completely scheduled in an observing queue. If scheduling problems can be solved by a trade with other science groups, please contact the relevant program PIs directly. Also, please inform me of any solution that has been agreed to. For 2024A, observers should keep in mind that a science program designed to rapidly follow up gravitational wave detections, and very highly ranked by the Steward Observatory TAC, is active on all telescopes. Observers should be alert to the possibility of requests to obtain timely observations on short notice if LIGO/Virgo detects a suitable gravitational wave event. Observers are asked to cooperate, if possible, with requests when these important opportunities arise. As always, if an agreement cannot quickly be reached between the parties in these circumstances, priority in target selection will be given to the program ranked more highly by the TAC. Thank you, Paul Smith Steward Observatory
