8.2.1 Term information

The first block of information requested in the proposal template file concerns the cycle of the proposed observations (year and term), the type of proposal, and whether the present proposal will be a continuation of a program that was previously awarded time. Contrary to the old LATEX2.09 proposal forms, we do not anticipate updating the LATEX2e class and template files every term; instead, any changes will be reflected in the Call for Proposals. Hence, the requested information tends to be a bit more explicit, in many cases a simple true/yes or false/no question. The first block prompts for the following information:

\begin{proposalterminfo}
   \propyear{}    % enter a 4-digit year in the range 2006--2016, e.g. 2006
   \propterm{}    % enter 1, 2 or 3 for trimesters; A or B for semesters.
                  %   Trimester 1/Semester A starts in January
   \propcont{} % enter 'true' or 'yes' (without quotes) if this is a
                  % continuation of a program that was previously awarded
                  % time; the default is 'false' (new program)
   \proplong{} % enter 'true' or 'yes' (without quotes) if this is a
                  %   long-term proposal; default is 'false' (short-term)
   \propltnr{} % enter your previously assigned program number if you
                  % specified 'true' in both items above. Please enter
                  % digits only (or LaTeX will exit with an error), e.g.
                  %   '148' (without quotes)
   \propeduc{} % enter 'true' or 'yes' (without quotes) if this is an
                  % education or public outreach proposal; default is
                  % 'false'. This flag will override the \proplong flag.
   \propengr{} % enter 'true' or 'yes' (without quotes) if this is an
                  % engineering proposal; default is 'false'. This flag
                  % will override the \proplong and \propeduc flags.
\end{proposalterminfo}
