Weather Report for June 27, 2016

Tonight, only one single object could be observed during a brief clear gap in the monsoon cloud cover. The seeing was 2.5 arcsec. Rain started to fall again at the start of morning twilight.

A major thunderstorm missed Mt. Bigelow but hit Tucson at sunset, causing all kinds of turmoil in the city. A report from my wife indicates that our house was without power and had sustained a little damage (only cosmetic, I hope) as debris picked up by high winds slammed into it. Much of the property flooded during the height of the storm, but somehow no water entered the house. Life in a desert!
