October begins with a pretty decent night of observing. Like the previous
night, Kitt Peak was often surrounded by cloud cover. Somehow most of the
night stayed clear, although more observations were hampered by thin
cirrus tonight than last night. Thick clouds finally moved over the
mountain and the dome had to be closed about an hour early. Seeing was
1-1.5 arcsec throughout the night.
